Nestled 2 miles outside historic Silverton, Colorado at high elevation in the San Juan Mountains, San Juan Backcountry Lodge offers one of the most spectacular and intimate wedding venue settings in the American West. With panoramic views of the surrounding peaks, full lodge access, and overnight accommodations for up to 12 guests included in every package, your wedding weekend becomes a true mountain escape. We are a venue-only facility — we provide the space and the setting; you bring your own caterer, tables, chairs, décor, and vendors.

All prices are for the venue fee only and include full lodge access plus overnight lodging the night before and after the wedding for up to 12 guests. Tables, chairs, catering, and all other vendor services are not included and must be arranged independently by the couple.

San Juan Backcountry Lodge is a venue-only facility. Here’s exactly what that means.
Full Lodge Access
The entire lodge interior and exterior grounds are yours for your wedding day — common areas, kitchen access, and all outdoor spaces with views of the surrounding San Juan peaks.
Overnight Lodging for 12
Overnight accommodations in the lodge’s 4 guest rooms for up to 12 guests are included the night before and the night after the wedding. Perfect for the wedding party and immediate family.
Breathtaking Mountain Setting
Located 2 miles outside of historic Silverton at high elevation, the lodge sits in a dramatic San Juan Mountain setting with panoramic views that require minimal décor to make unforgettable.
Not Included: Tables & Chairs
We do not supply tables, chairs, linens, or any furniture for your event. All rentals must be arranged and brought in by your wedding coordinator or rental vendor.
Not Included: Catering & Bar
No catering, food service, or bar is provided. Couples are responsible for hiring their own caterer, bartender, and coordinating all food and beverage logistics.
Not Included: Tent & Décor
Tents, canopies, floral arrangements, lighting, sound equipment, and all other décor are the couple’s responsibility. Silverton and Durango area vendors can assist with rentals.
Porta potty requirement: Mid-Size (51–75 guests) and Full Capacity (76–100 guests) weddings are required to arrange and bring in a porta potty for the event. This is not provided by the lodge and must be coordinated by the couple prior to the wedding date.
Booking & Cancellation Policy

💰 Deposit
A 50% deposit of the total venue fee is required to hold your wedding date. The remaining 50% balance is due 15 days before check-in.
✅ Free Cancellation
Cancel up to 30 days before check-in and receive a 100% refund of your deposit. No questions asked.
⚠️ Late Cancellation
Cancellations made within 30 days of check-in forfeit the deposit. We recommend wedding insurance for added protection against unforeseen circumstances.
❄️ Winter Weddings
Winter venue pricing (November–April) reflects full lodge access year-round. Outdoor ceremonies in winter are weather-dependent and at the couple’s discretion. Indoor ceremony space is available regardless of season.
